Steve -
Great to see that you are still fighting the good fight. I, of course, would still argue that "sustainable business as usual" would simply slow the decline, but it is good to see that our flawed economic institutions have received a wake-up call. Perhaps someone should realize that a "bailout" shouldn't simply restore the economy to its former "glory", but offer an opportunity to restructure it sustainably in both economic and environmental terms. It's good to remember that the books can be rebalanced indefinitely, but the environment cannot.
Ecologically yours,
Nicole H

Inspiring Billie. You are physically and emotionally changing the course ahead for all of us. It takes a great deal of thought and positive momentum to step into real change. It's a place of insecurity and vulnerability and also of greatness - in the most humble of terms. Never stop shining the light on the path ahead. You have come so far and I celebrate the tales you share and the people you collect together in this journey of meaningful change.

Billie,

'ARC Revisits McConnell' actually gave me chills. We've (Alayna and myself) had so many instances of fortuitously connecting with like-minded people that it really is ridiculous. I think we're all players in this story, and everybody's got their roles. From our perspective, we see the human body as a microcosm for the planet - those who pollute their body with no thought to the future are likely to be the same ones polluting the planet, with no thought to the future (see one Richard Cheney, working on heart attack #5, for proof). The 'this body/planet is mine and it's here for me to exploit for all it's worth' mentality is on the way out. Our generation cannot let it stand. There is a direct correlation between healthy minds, bodies, and consciousness. That, we believe, is our role; speaking out about that correlation, and getting young people to take responsibility for their own bodies and minds. Change starts with the individual, and getting your mind/body healthy will radiate out into the world like ripples on a pond.

I sincerely look forward to seeing where you and ARC go next, Billie. Alayna and I have tremendous respect for you and your vision, and if there's anything we can do to support, please don't hesitate to ask.

Keep up the incredible momentum - we all could use more people like you!

Billie, you are doing what your heart has been singing about for years, the only difference is that now, you have the words. You took the heart of my life and put it on screen, you took the spirit of my child and brought it to life. As I sit here and write this, my life again as you know has been giving another chalenge, to live without the keeper of my heart, my husband. My house now empty, my heart without music and now who am I, as i struggle to make sense of this world around me, a neighbour who still has us not opening the centre, families needing our resources a community who has supported us, the price, my son's life, my husbands life, endless nights not sleeping, tears to fill an ocean and enough questions about life and the " Me"

I had no idea - and I'm THRILLED for you!

It's a pretty wild moment when everything you've envisioned, sacrificed and held on for (through crisis of faith and focus) start becoming real, huh?

Cheering for you...

My friend, you are NEVER alone: there's a bunkie on Lake Huron with your name on it.

And I deeply respect and appreciate the courage and steadfastness that kept you on the path through those dark times. Sounds trite - I know - but its only when you have that you come to know how devoted to your life's vision and purpose you really are. And knowing that's priceless.
